Setting Up an eSIM on Your Mobile Phone
What is an eSIM?
An eSIM or "embedded SIM," is a small chip that's built into some smartphones, tablets, smartwatches and other devices. It serves the same purpose as a regular SIM card, which is to identify your device and connect it to a cellular network so you can make calls, send texts, and use data. An eSIM is programmed with your phone number and information, and can be activated and deactivated remotely. This means you don't have to worry about losing or damaging your SIM card, and you can switch to Eastlink without having to physically swap out the card.
Will I receive an eSIM?
Eastlink iPhones:
All eSIM-compatible iPhone models sold by Eastlink will be automatically provisioned with an eSIM.
Eastlink Samsung Smartphones:
All eSIM-compatible Samsung models sold by Eastlink require a physical SIM card to be activated first, then the SIM card can be swapped for an eSIM, if desired.
Bring Your Own Phone (BYOP):
If you are bringing your own phone (BYOP) and you would like to use an eSIM, please visit a retail store or contact our Customer Care team at 1-888-345-1111 to obtain a QR code. A QR code is required to push your mobile profile to your device and get it activated on the Eastlink network.
