If you picked up your modem at an Eastlink Store, it is easy to install. Just follow the steps below.
If you're a new customer and you received your new modem in the mail, follow the below steps and then please check your email and look for a message from Eastlink Customer Care titled “Message from Eastlink Customer Care”. Follow the instructions within the email to activate your new WiFi modem or call 1-866-238-2390 and follow the prompts for equipment/modem activation.

If you were also provided WiFi Perfected (eero equipment) with your modem, please click here. Otherwise, if you have not personalized your Network Name and Password, connect your devices to your new WiFi network using the SSID or Network Name and PassPhrase/Password/Pre-Shared Key information located on the bottom of your modem. If you would like to change your Network Name and Password, please click here for instructions.
1. Either set your modem in the same place where your old modem was installed, or place the modem in a central location in your home with access to an active cable outlet if you are a new internet customer.2. Connect the coaxial cable (TV Cable) to an active cable outlet and onto the back of the modem.3. Skip this step if you are also installing WiFi Perfected (eero) - If you want to connect using a wired connection, please use the Ethernet cable provided and plug one end into an Ethernet port on the back of the modem, and the other end into your device or computer.4. Plug the power adapter that came with your new modem into an electrical socket and then connect it to the back of your new modem.5. Most of our modems will display at least 4 solid lights when they are online. If after 5 minutes the modem is not online, try another coaxial cable outlet (if available).If you need help at any point during these steps, please call our Technical Support team at 1-888-345-1111. 1. If installing for the first time, click the Activate Now link found in the Install your Eastlink Internet Security Services email you received. If you are looking to install on additional devices go to: Eastlink Internet Security Portal and login with your account username/email and password. If you don't remember your password select Forgot Password to receive an email allowing you reset the password.2. Once logged in, click Add device. The Whose device do you want to protect? window appears.3. Make sure My device is selected, and click Continue. The Choose device type window appears.4. Make sure This computer is selected, and click Download for Windows.5. Depending on your browser, the installer file downloads automatically or you are asked to save the file. If prompted, click Save File.6. Press Ctrl+J on your keyboard to open the download folder and find the file.7. Click on the installer file (for example, F-Secure-Safe-Network-Installer_xxxxxxxxxxxxx_.exe) to run the installer. If the User Account Control window appears, click Yes. Set-up takes place.8. Click Continue when you see Welcome to SAFE.9. Click Accept and install to start the installation. If you want to contribute anonymous security data to F-Secure's Security Cloud, leave the box ticked.

You may be required to enter your administrator password. Type in your administrator password and click Install software.10. On the Activate window, click Continue to activate. Type in your administrator password again to allow F-Secure to make some changes.11. F-Secure SAFE prompts you to install Browsing Protection. Select your internet browser from the drop down menu, and click Install now.12. As the installation process may vary from browser to browser, follow the instructions on the screen to complete the Browsing Protection installation.
